Bengaluru: Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, showcased Battery Aadhaar, its innovative digital battery identity platform powered by MOBIUS+, at the Battery Summit 2025 organized by WRI India.
The initiative marks a pivotal step in building India’s digital infrastructure for battery traceability, regulatory compliance, and circular economy alignment.
The project is part of a consortium-led effort supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) under the ‘Electrifying Mobility in Cities’ initiative, in collaboration with NITI Aayog and the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Partnering with key players such as Tata Motors, Tata AutoComp Systems (TACO), IIT Kharagpur, LOHUM Cleantech, NUNAM Technologies, Oorja Energy, and WRI, Tata Elxsi introduced Battery Aadhaar as a national solution to establish secure, digital identities for batteries across their full lifecycle – from manufacturing to reuse and recycling.
“MOBIUS+ is built to transform India’s clean mobility future by delivering secure, transparent, and scalable digital solutions,” said Anil Radhakrishnan, Chief Product Officer, Tata Elxsi. “With Battery Aadhaar, we are laying the foundation for a policy-aligned and globally adaptable battery ecosystem.”
